This policy explains how Stringon Inc. handles information in Your lang for google map, a Chrome extension that lets you choose the language used by Google Maps. Contact us at support@stringon.co.jp.
The extension processes the tab information it needs on your device and saves language preferences locally. Stringon Inc. does not receive your Maps URLs or language preferences through the extension. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking service, or developer-operated server connection.
Information processed on your device
- Maps URLs and tab information: the extension checks tab
identifiers and available URLs on
https://www.google.comto identify Maps pages and apply a language choice. A Maps URL can contain a search, place name, address, coordinates, or directions. The extension processes the URL in memory to preserve it while changing only the language parameter. It does not save a URL history or scrape page contents. - Language preferences: your default Maps language and up to six menu shortcuts are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. These settings are not synchronized by the extension to other devices.
- Temporary selections: a tab identifier and language choice are held in Chrome's session rules when you choose a temporary language.
- Interface language: Chrome's display language is used locally to display the extension's menu and settings.
The extension does not request your name, email address, password, payment information, or precise location through a location permission. It does not access Chrome's browsing-history database, read cookies, or require an account.
How information is used
This information is used only to display the language menu, remember your
settings, and apply your selected language to Google Maps. Host access is
granted by Chrome for https://www.google.com, but language changes
are restricted to /maps and its subpaths.
Information obtained through Chrome APIs is used only for this disclosed purpose. Our use of that information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or use it to build user profiles.
Google Maps and other third parties
When the extension reloads a Maps page, Chrome sends the resulting Maps URL directly to Google as part of normal browsing. Google handles that request under its own privacy policy. Stringon Inc. does not receive that URL. The extension is independent of, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by, Google.
No analytics or third-party tracking code is bundled with the extension or this privacy page. If you access this page on a hosting provider's website, that provider may process ordinary web requests under its own privacy policy.
Storage, retention, and your choices
- Saved language preferences remain in your Chrome profile until you change them or remove the extension. Chrome manages removal of extension-local storage when the extension is uninstalled.
- Temporary tab selections are cleared when the tab closes, Chrome restarts, or the extension is reloaded or updated. Use default also clears the current tab's temporary selection.
- Maps URLs are not retained in extension storage or sent to Stringon Inc.
- You can change settings, restrict site access, disable the extension, or
uninstall it through
chrome://extensions. Restricting site access may prevent language selection from working.
If you contact support
If you voluntarily email support@stringon.co.jp, Stringon Inc. receives your email address and the information you include. We use that correspondence to respond to your request and keep it only as long as needed to resolve the request or meet applicable legal obligations. Our email service processes correspondence to deliver that support. Avoid including sensitive addresses, routes, or other personal information unless it is necessary for your request. You can contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable retention obligations.
Security and policy changes
The extension relies on Chrome's extension isolation, local storage, and request-rule mechanisms, and its Maps host permission uses HTTPS. We may update this policy when the extension or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current policy. Material changes will be disclosed through the extension or its store listing as appropriate.
